Riverside Home, Oxford

riverside home oxford case study

Barbara, a former government policy advisor, has a home overlooking the river in central Oxford.

She was looking for a way to make her living area more comfortable – with large glass folding doors, it received a lot of light, but also caused uncomfortable heat buildup inside.

She contacted Kensington Blinds for a solution that could keep her home cool without compromising on the natural light and view.

We installed an external roller blind across the glazing, which reflect’s the sun’s heat away from the window before it can enter the house. However, the regular weave of the fabric allows light through as well as preserving Barbara’s view outside.

Easily controlled via a remote, she is now in control of the temperature in her house.

Barbara was thrilled with the new blind, commenting:
‘I absolutely love it. Just so neat and fits in superbly with the existing colour scheme. So happy.’

Barbara was able to choose a frame and fabric colour to ensure the blind blended in seamlessly with her existing colour scheme.

Ideal for retrofitting onto existing homes, external blinds provide instant cooling relief for homeowners looking to end their problems with overheating, by preventing heat from even entering the house.
