Taylor’s Court – External Blinds Case Study

Our client, a self-builder creating a contemporary home, had incorporated multiple rooflight windows into the design to maximise natural daylight. While these features brought light and openness to the interior, the client was concerned about excessive solar gain and the risk of overheating—particularly during the warmer months.

Kensington Blinds Solution

To address this, the client approached Kensington Blinds in search of a solution that would provide effective solar control without compromising on the home's modern aesthetic.

We installed three external rooflight blinds to provide optimal temperature regulation and comfort. Thanks to smart planning, we were able to cover four rooflights using just two blinds, helping to reduce costs while maintaining performance. The external roof blinds are fully automated, controlled via remote and integrated into the client’s home automation system, making them both highly efficient and virtually maintenance-free.
