The Grade II listed City Hall in Bristol, an iconic local landmark officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1956, stands as a testament to the city's rich history and architectural grandeur. In recent years, the hall underwent significant renovation and restoration efforts to modernize its facilities while preserving its historical essence.

This ambitious project aimed to bring the hall up to date for the 21st century, ensuring it remains a functional civic space.

Kensington Blindshelp, in collaboration with PLACEmaking Bristol, played a crucial role in this transformation. The team meticulously restored the original curtains, a feature integral to the hall's historical charm. Additionally, they installed new roller blinds to help control glare, enhance comfort, and protect the interiors from potential damage.

This careful blend of preservation and innovation ensured that the updates were sensitive to the building's architectural heritage, allowing City Hall to continue serving the community with both modern amenities and historical integrity.

“Craig initially helped us with a sun screen and blackout blind product specification suitable for the refurbishment project of the grade 2* listed City Hall in Bristol. Craig was extremely attentive and his experience and knowledge resulted in the scope of work being expanded to include dress curtains for the conference hall and the restoration of curtains in the council chamber and other rooms of heritage importance. The project was well executed and we look forward to working with Craig again on other projects.”
